After the disappointment of Sekiro (the combat never "clicked" for me, so it was brutal and I never beat the last boss), Nioh 2 pushed all the right buttons for me personally. I liked it so much, that I put 120h into it right away. Decided to give part 2 a go because of the character customization and general story setting. Tried the demo of Nioh 1 back in the day and didn't like it at all.
#Nioh 2 complete edition Ps4
I picked up Nioh 2 last year on PS4 as my first "Soulslike" Experience outside of FromSoftware games. My personal (!) two cents to add to your thoughts: I forgot to mention I've also played surge 2, ds3 (but I'm more inclined to ds2 style of pace)ĭo ya think that if i approached nioh 2 as a more hard looter slasher that i'll have an easier time? i mean like doing side missions and leveling up and grinding and whatnot? I don't really play games for the lore, more the gameplay. Man you're making it real hard to get into these games hah ha I would say - not as tedious and boring as in DS. But the word "easy" is not entirely correct. So, in combat - Nioh/2 more harder than Sekiro/DS. If you've lost the battle and wasted rare buffs, you don't have to go and grind them. If you play with kusarigama, you will gain experience that no other DS/Sekiro game will give you.Īnd the most important thing for me - in Nioh, you have skills that will replenish your supplies of consumables - elemental power-ups, buffs, bombs, and more. You will also be using some of the most original weapons in video game history, such as the tonfa/kusurigama.

The maps are much simpler and not as senselessly convoluted as in Sekiro. The world/lore is much more alive than in Sekiro/DS.
